Librarian certifications expire on June 30, 2012. They may go ahead and begin renewing their certifications online at http://www.sos.ga.gov/plb/librarians.

Please keep in mind that amendments to O.C.G.A. §50-36-1 became effective on January 1, 2012 requiring that all persons who are renewing their licenses must provide a Secure and Verifiable Document in order to complete the renewal of their licenses. Examples of secure and verifiable documents are driver’s license, U.S. passport, or green card. A complete list of secure and verifiable documents may be found on our website at http://www.sos.ga.gov/plb.

Librarians who are renewing their licenses may upload a copy of their Secure and Verifiable Document during the online renewal process, or they may visit the Board’s website at http://www.sos.ga.gov/plb/librarians, click on “Application Downloads” and select the “Secure and Verifiable Documents Cover Sheet.” They will need to complete this form using the instructions contained on the form, and submit their Secure and Verifiable Document along with this cover sheet. They may email their documents to chobbs@sos.ga.gov or may fax them to 866-888-1176. Licensees need to print their name and professional license number on any documents that they submit to the Board.
