The Georgia Library Association and the Georgia Association for Instructional Technology invite proposals for panels, workshops and meetings for the Georgia Libraries Conference. This year, the conference will be held at the Macon Marriott City Center in Macon, Georgia on October 9-11, 2019.
Our theme this year is “Building Better Together.”
Libraries strive to offer the best foundation of services, facilities and resources to their patrons. Our communities benefit when we are able to work together: whether across departments, library types or with other organizations. Working together, libraries and their partners, whether in the academic, public, school or special environments, are able to build better services, facilities and resources.
The theme, “Building Better Together” includes community-driven projects, such as library renovations, partnerships, outreach, new programming and services. It can also include innovative collection building with digitization, open-access repositories, e-books, e-journals and print resources. “Building Better Together” also describes shifts in librarianship caused by technology and other influences. Moreover, it can include enhancing services to meet the needs of the Library communities. We encourage our presenters to think of all of the ways this theme can apply to their libraries and interests.
Pre-conference sessions will be scheduled between 9 AM and 4 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Conference sessions, demonstrations/vendor updates, poster presentations and meetings will be scheduled at various times during the conference days of Wednesday, October 9 through Friday, October 11. Changes will not be made to schedules once proposals are selected and the program is set.
The Proposal Submission Form is online at: https://forms.gle/a4k1P8utypkq7sy9A. The conference website will be available shortly.
The proposal deadline is May 25, 2019. The decisions of the Programming Committee will be communicated via email to the primary proposer by June 28th. All decisions of the Programming Committee are final. Any changes to presenter(s) or programs must be made within one week of proposal approval.
