1 PM – 2:30 PM (EST)
Have you ever wanted to present at a library conference, but didn’t know where to start?
GLA’s New Members Roundtable (NMRT) has partnered with the Special Libraries and Information Services Division (SLIS) to create PracticeCon, a mini conference dedicated to practicing presentation skills, getting feedback, and working on public speaking. Mack Freeman, our keynote speaker, will cover tips and tricks to help you become a better presenter!
If you are interested in presenting, please submit a proposal. Topics can include—but are not limited to—anything to do with libraries, a topic close to your heart, or a conference presentation that you would like to do in the future. This is your time to do the TED Talk that you’ve always dreamed of doing! You do not have to be a GLA member to participate or attend.
Presentation Criteria:
One presenter per presentation.
Presentations should be 7-10 minutes long and use graphics to keep the audience engaged.
Attendees will offer feedback on the presentations during the conference.
Proposal submission forms should be submitted by August 1. Selections will be based on whether the objective of the presentation is easily identifiable and appropriate for the amount of time allotted. Selected participants will be notified by August 17.
