Coastal Plain Regional Library System Headquarters may look like another house in the neighborhood in Tift County, Georgia; it is quite the contrary. Coastal Plain Regional Library System serves over 112,000 Georgia residents across six counties in south Central Georgia.
In addition to housing regional staff, our headquarters location also serves as a small branch, offering a slower-paced environment than the bustling downtown branch. While our main focus is to support our county libraries with various resources, we are working to enhance our patron experience at this location by offering engaging activities, passive programs, and a welcoming environment.

Recently undergoing a full revamp, all of our items were re-shelved just before our Summer Reading Program. Bright, colorful decorations were displayed in our children’s area hoping to encourage the children to be excited and optimistic about our upcoming summer reading plans.
We saw a dramatic increase in our patronage. Families came to morning activities and ended up spending their entire day. Patrons engaged with staff and enjoyed our passive programs, such as the puzzle table and Creative Station, in the children’s area. Our community raved on social media about the changes we made at Headquarters.
Coastal Plain Regional Library System Headquarters is small, but our system is mighty! With eight libraries, including a mobile library (Library Everywhere), south Central Georgia has access to many resources to enhance literacy and impact personal growth, and can lead residents on an imagination adventure. We are excited for what the future holds for not only our headquarters, but for our region as a whole.
