The Atlanta Emerging Librarians (AEL) Planning Committee is looking for nominations for next year’s (2021) planning committee. AEL is a standing committee of GLA’s New Members Round Table (NMRT) that strives to create in-person connections between MLIS students, new graduates, new librarians, and those interested in a career in libraries throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Being a part of AEL is a great way to get involved in GLA, network with people from all different types of libraries, and plan informal and formal events and mingles. Each year the group hosts at least four events that offer networking and professional development opportunities. To nominate yourself or someone else to be a part of the AEL Planning Committee for the 2021 term, please submit the following information in an email to atlantaemerginglibrarians@gmail.com :
- Name
- “MLIS/MLS program and graduation date (if applicable)
- “Are you willing to meet with other planning committee members in person or virtually throughout the year?
- “Imagine you are a member of the 2021 AEL Planning Committee. Describe your first event, including details such as location, topic, type of event, and potential speaker(s).
Please submit questions and/or nominations by Wednesday, September 30th, 2020.
